As our second quarter heads into a close, I’ve turned to my fellow members of WriteCause to hear about their experiences with the group, and get an account on what I’ve yet to experience as a new part of our team. I hope our reflections help to give you a greater sense of what goes on behind closed doors (or behind the laptops you might say :]). For more information about each of my incredible colleagues, navigate yourself to our about page! As summer approaches and school finishes, we hope you are creating more and taking time to take care of yourselves and others. Last call for submissions is quickly approaching, and we wish you happy writing!
Anoushka (Marketing Director) - Being a founding member of WriteCause, I have seen an idea amongst friends flourish and grow into what it is today after almost a year. As the marketing director, I have forged unbreakable bonds with not only our team, but everyone involved in WriteCause. Not only has it been a pleasure to collaborate with a group of bright peers, but it has been fulfilling knowing that our mission contributes to aid larger issues. I hope that WriteCause continues encouraging teenagers to problem-solve and further their understanding and reflection of the world around us.
Nalini (Blog Coordinator) - Being a part of WriteCause has done nothing but change me for the better. I’ve been surrounded by encouraging and supportive people who push me to do my best. I’ve gained a better understanding of leadership, teamwork and camaraderie. Our leadership has given me opportunities to be the face of WriteCause in one of our workshops, and I’ve been cheered on as I take a step into the limelight as a blog coordinator. Though I’m still a fresh face, I can’t wait to continue creating and supporting our cause.
Izzy (Marketing Coordinator) - WriteCause has impacted my life through the people and our message. It has drawn writing and a new community closer to my everyday life. Not only does WriteCause stand for a reason that I strongly support, we aim to bring people closer through writing for good reasons. Personally, it has brought me closer to a group of driven teenagers that I connect with and through them I’ve been able to learn life skills and writing skills that have all around shaped me in great ways.
Aanya (Executive Director) - Starting WriteCause just last November, I have been overjoyed at the impact we have already started to make. From raising money for the National Alliance On Mental Illness to creating a forum based upon wonderful and inspiring pieces of writing, WriteCause has come so far in just a handful of months and means so much to me. I look forward to continuing to support teen writers and working to make an impact on the world around us.
All of us on the team are looking forward to our next quarter, to keep working with all of you. Stay tuned in to our socials to hear more about what's to come!
