BRACELET MAKING

WriteCause gathers people to make bracelets as participants learn why gun control is important. This event focuses on spreading awareness about gun control. At the end, participants will have hand-made bracelets to take home and more knowledge on gun control!

BUILDING BLOCKS OF YOU

WriteCause walks students through the four types of self-image and its influences through an interactive workshop where participants create a zine (collective classroom artwork and writing activity). This workshop aims to discuss how the formation of self-image is inspired by our internal and external experiences. By the end of the event, students reflect upon the “building blocks” or components of their direct and indirect life experiences, while also engaging in creating two collections of artwork that explore their inner self-image and communal togetherness.

TOUR OF THE MIND WORKSHOP

WriteCause walks students through an interactive experience of brain mapping. This workshop discusses mental health and the stigma around it. Students personify the different aspects of their minds from their demons to their dreams. At the end of this workshop, students will have created a piece of writing guiding the audience through their minds. Along the way, they learn how to use figurative language, mental health stigma, and rediscover inner thoughts.

ART OF WORDS WORKSHOP

The workshop highlights the importance of word choice. WriteCause teaches students about word choice and how different words have different tones and connotations. The workshop concludes with a capstone writing activity where students will dissect the deeper meaning of a specific art-related word they connect to.
